What does the Board of Directors do?
The Board members are legally and ethically responsible for determining policy, approving the annual budget, fundraising, and establishing short- and long-term goals. The Board is a policy-making body and has an obligation to establish policy, employ the Director, and assist the Director in long-range planning. To meet these obligations, the Board members serve on one or more of the following committees: Finance, Public Relations, Fundraising, Standards and Long-Range Planning, and Board Development/Nominating.
